Music performance and music education have been lifelong passions and pursuits for Dr. Nara Shahbazyan throughout her life. Warm and patient, she is committed to providing the best music lessons in safe and welcoming environment for her students to learn and thrive. Dr. Shahbazyan is a passionate educator, and she strives to help each student reach their full potential and achieve their musical aspirations while enjoying playing a musical instrument. Her lessons are fun and engaging, and customized to fit each student's music goals, interests, and learning style. She currently teaches at her private studio in West Los Angeles, where she offers in-person and online cello, piano, theory, and chamber music lessons to students of all ages and levels, and can also accommodate lessons at students' home within a reasonable distance. Dr. Shahbazyan is an active member of the Music Teachers’ Association of California and her students successfully participate in recitals, auditions, competitions, summer music festivals and music camps.
Dr. Shahbazyan received her Doctor of Musical Arts from Boston University and has over 20 years of experience teaching cello, piano, chamber music, music history and theory, ear training and sight singing, and directing music ensembles. She has also been a cello professor and director of the string ensemble at Stonehill College, and music history and theory professor at Dean College, as well as a music instructor at numerous music academies.
