CELLO & PIANO INSTRUCTOR
Nara's performances have been described as passionate and moving, captivating audiences with her technical skill and emotional depth.
Dr. Nara Shahbazyan has performed and recorded extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. She has served as a member of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony, New Bedford Symphony, the Cape Symphony, the Plymouth Philharmonic, and the Neue Philharmonie Hamburg Orchestras. She is the Associate Director and cellist of ENSEMBLE / PARALLAX. She has performed alongside many classical and popular artists such as Yefim Bronfman, Augustin Hadelich, Andrea Bocelli, Rachel Barton Pine, 2Cellos, Michael Buble, Josh Groban, Sarah Brightman, Il Divo, Evanescence, Hansen, The Disturbed, amongst many others.
Dr. Shahbazyan is also a music educator teaching cello, piano, chamber music, music theory and history classes. She has been a cello professor and the director of the String Ensemble at Stonehill College and a music history and theory professor at Dean College.
Currently, Dr. Shahbazyan teaches cello, piano, and chamber music online at the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School as well as at her private studio in West Los Angeles, where she offers cello, piano, theory, and chamber music lessons for all ages and levels in-person and online.
